Show Low Summers Bustling with Events

Once Old Man Winter leaves town, Spring rolls in and Show Low comes alive with events and activities for Torreon members and guests. Residents venture back out to stroll the sidewalks of downtown and visitors flock to the expansive forest and near-perfect temperatures. We’re highlighting some of the most popular events to enjoy this summer in the premier White Mountain town.

Show Low Farmer’s Market

From May 11 through September 7, plan on spending your Saturday morning browsing the farmer’s market. Considered the best market in the Arizona White Mountains, there’s no shortage of fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, eggs, jellies and jams, baked goods as well as craft items, homemade soaps, jewelry and candles. There’s no shortage of gift ideas or foods to stock your kitchen.

Show Low Days

The best of Show Low is on display during this two-day event where visitors are invited to browse neighborhoods and learn about the businesses, non-profits, and community organizations right in their backyard. Each entity is asked to host events or activities to showcase what they bring to the Show Low community. Enjoy food vendors, entertainment and the opportunity to interact with those creating the pulse of Show Low.

Battle of the Bands and Vans

May the best band and food truck win! This increasingly popular event hosts two separate competitions at once: music and food. Visitors can enjoy a variety of music genres as nine bands each play a set of their music throughout the day. Nine food vans will also be competing at this year’s event. This event is a must so grab your blanket and lawn chairs and come out to Frontier Park.

Medieval Mayhem Renaissance Faire

This annual event is a great chance to escape reality and step back in time to the age of knights, queens, kings and the like. This historical re-creation provides entertainment for guests in the way of live artisan demos, music, dance and fully armored characters. Kids can participate in a treasure hunt on Friday and there’s a 21+ late show on Saturday. With three stages and several food booths to choose from, your weekend is all but planned!

Local Classes

Get smarter this summer! Summer is a great chance to take advantage of the many community and corporate learning opportunities at Northland Pioneer College. From dance to canning, gardening to horsemanship, there’s likely a class for you. Visit their website for a complete list of classes and registration deadlines. Fees and location vary based on class.

Outdoor Excursions

Northland Pioneer College offers adult day trips from May through October to a variety of Northern Arizona destinations. These trips allow convenient exploration and education of some of the most well-known and unique areas of the state. Attendees will learn the history and culture, see the scenic sights and enjoy a memorable experience. Transportation is included from the Show Low campus. Trips are designed for students ages 21 and up.
