Battle of the Bands & Food Vans August 31, 2024, 12 p.m. – 9 p.m. Mark the date!
What’s better than enjoying music and food with friends and family? Attend Show Low’s Battle of the Bands & Food Vans event on August 31 from Noon – 9 p.m. in the heart of downtown Show Low in the beautiful White Mountains.
Nine bands will each play a set of music while spectators relax on the grass with friends and family, listening to music, sipping cold beverages, and tasting the contestants’ food.
More than 2,600 people attended last year’s battle of the Bands and Food Vans and more are expected to join the event this year, increasing that number.
Denise Stow from the Show Low Main Street group said after planning events for more than four decades, she has a clear understanding of what makes this event so popular.
“I think people just enjoy it,” she said. “They have a good time, it’s a family event, and every year we continue to get good bands, you get their groupies, and people just enjoy everything we have for kids and adults. I’ve been planning events for a long time with events up to 30,000 and I want people to enjoy themselves. Every year people come out and they can’t wait until the next year. That means we’ve done our job.”
Stow said families will enjoy the new Frontier Park Playground as well. Located just across the fence from the Frontier Park soccer fields, the park is designed with inclusivity in mind, offering kids of all ages and capabilities the chance to play. Kids can also cool off in the nearby splash pad.
Food Van and vendor applications are still available on the Show Low Main Street website.
The event has a $7 per person entry fee at the gate, 12 years old and under are free with a paying adult.
The nine bands will begin their sets on the hour starting at Noon until 8 p.m.
Gates open at 11 a.m.
