White Mountain Nature Center Presents Raptor Flight Show
The White Mountain Nature Center, located at 425 S. Woodland Road, in the heart of Pinetop-Lakeside, connects people to the natural beauty of the White Mountains. They do this by providing information, plus close-up and personal wildlife experiences. It’s in a central location for exploration, and a convenient meeting place for nature-focused organizations and events.
The White Mountain Nature Center loves raptors and offers a world-class Raptor Free-Flight Show at the Raptor Center, located directly behind the existing Nature Center with a beautiful view of the Big Springs Meadow and surrounding forest. It was designed by WDM Architects of Wichita, KS, who are world renowned for building animal enclosures that provide animals with challenges, choices, and control over their environment.
The Raptor Show happens every day except Monday at 3 p.m. and is open to the public. Seating is limited, so arrive by 2:45 PM at the latest.

You can see raptors at the show and meet Animal Ambassadors on the website, including Simon and Garfunkel, the Eurasian Eagle Owls; Azul, an American Crow; Speedy, the Red-Tailed Hawk; and more. Animal Ambassadors are selected and trained specifically for educational experiences with the public. The raptors are trained to be calm, responsive to cues, and non-aggressive.
Get involved! Take a look at the events calendar and join in. Most hikes are free. Educational events are free to members or $10 for non-members.
This is not an animal rehabilitation organization. They do not have permits for taking animals from the wild and rehabilitating them. If you encounter a situation involving an injured or sick wild animal, please contact Arizona Game and Fish, Pinetop office at (928) 367-4281.
The White Mountain Nature Center is here to inspire and educate, plus provide unique opportunities to interact with nature. Enjoy hiking, learning, watching animals, helping out, and teaching kids to love nature.
