Introducing Scott Waddle, New Director of Food & Beverage

3 Min Read

Torreon is pleased to announce the hiring of Scott Waddle as our new Director of Food & Beverage. Scott and his family have been in the golf and culinary industry for more than 100 years, having built Riverview Golf Course in Sterling, Colorado 70 years ago.

Growing up on ranches and farms inspired many recipes his family has passed down from generation to generation, and restaurant to restaurant. In 2000, Nike and American Golf named Scott Southwest Golf Professional of the Year. However, his culinary passion continued to call, so he bought a golf course, restaurant and bar which he ran for 14 years. Simultaneously he bought and ran the Hungry Buffalo Bar.

Now Scott is excited for a new opportunity to apply all his culinary and golf experience at Torreon. Together with Torreon’s existing talented culinary team, Scott will ensure a smooth transition as the Grille reopens for the spring and summer 2025 season.

“I am thankful to work at such a beautiful facility,” Scott said, walking around the Torreon Grille.

Customer service is Scott’s favorite aspect of Food & Beverage.

“Making sure that our members/guests have the best customer service is an area that I thrive in,” said Scott.

Scott has owned and operated restaurants and golf courses for most of his life. He graduated from The San Diego Golf Academy with a degree in Golf Course Operations, Club Repair and Players Credentials. He’s a member of The National Golf Course Owners Association and was Golf Professional of The Year in 2000 for Nike and American Golf.

Scott, who is married to his best friend Marina, has a daughter, son-in-law and four beautiful grandchildren.

He said he loves living in Show Low.

“Show Low really does have some of the nicest people on the planet,” he said.

In his spare time, Scott loves to hunt, fish, teach golf, and spend time with his family. He loves trying different foods and traveling.

Torreon Grille is pleased to welcome Scott and his family to the area. Customers and employees look forward to trying Scott’s favorite dishes and exploring the new tastes he brings to the community, as well as picking up golfing tips from this long-time golf professional.
