An Inside look at Torreon’s Real Estate Market

3 Min Read

More and more people are looking to Show Low, and specifically Torreon for their dream home. What should they know, what time or year is best to buy and what pitfalls can they avoid when looking for the best fit in the White Mountains of Arizona?

Andrew J. Escamilla, Managing Broker at Torreon Realty in Show Low, shares a few thoughts on today’s real estate market. If you are looking to find your dream home, Escamilla has this advice:

“Folks should know that no two real estate transactions are ever the same, just like days or people,” he said. “The industry is ever-changing. A well-rounded agent will transmute these changes for the best interest of the buyer or seller that they are representing.”

Seasonal Advantages:

“Autumn in Torreon and real estate on the mountain, in general, comes with motivation from both buyers and sellers as it becomes a race against the nearing winter,” Escamilla said.

The winters in Show Low are relatively mild, however. Torreon is a mid-elevation mountain community in east central Arizona that enjoys four distinct seasons, with cool summers and mild winters.

Buyer-Broker Agreement:

Ready to tour homes with a realtor?

“One large recent change to keep in mind is that buyers must enter into a written agency relationship known as the "Buyer-Broker Agreement" before touring homes with a realtor. This is meant to encourage trust and professionalism,” he said.

Interest Rates:

“This is an interesting time as we come upon election time and apprehension over interest rates,” Escamilla said. “While no one has a crystal ball to tell us what happens next, it will not hurt to keep your knowledge of current events in your back pocket when in negotiations.”

Preparation, adaptation and strategy:

“Lots of us forget the positive sides of change as we get accustomed to our day-to-day lives,” he said. “Preparation, adaptation, and strategy will go a long way, especially in real estate dealings. Beginning with and adopting a beneficial outlook is key.”
