7 Top Spring Break Activities for Families in the White Mountains

Spring Break can be a wonderful time to explore the White Mountains and Show Low area with your family. Daily high temperatures range from 53°F to 60°F, rarely falling below 41°F or exceeding 70°F. It’s refreshing to view the beautiful scenery with miles of ponderosa pines and breathe crisp mountain air. We’ve gathered a few suggestions to explore as you venture into the White Mountain area of Northeastern Arizona:

1. Horseback Riding

2. White Mountain Family Fun Park

There’s no end to the fun found at White Mountain Family Fun Park. You’ll find something for everyone, including go karts, a lazer maze, mini golf and arcade activities. Your family will be talking about this adventure for years to come.

3. Visit Buffalo Bill’s Museum

Stop in at Buffalo Bill’s to experience an authentic western atmosphere and see interesting memorabilia. Known as Show Low’s hottest spot for food, drinks and fun, it’s a great place to meet up with family and friends.

4. Explore Show Low Bluff Trail

Enjoy a leisurely hike along the Bluff Trail, a perfect choice for people of all fitness levels, including those looking for a more relaxed stroll. The path goes through an expansive open meadow, where you might find frogs, flowers and flourishing plants. The highlight of the hike is a bridge over the serene Show Low Creek.

5. Fool Hollow

Named after a settler who attempted to farm the canyon area in the 1880s, Arizona Game and Fish Department constructed the lake to provide water-oriented outdoor recreation. You’ll enjoy the 150-acre lake where wildlife roam.

6. Show Low City Park

There’s a little bit of everything at Show Low City Park, from baseball fields to basketball courts, plus a dog park, horseshoe pits and playgrounds. It’s a great place to hang out with the residents and enjoy the slow pace of life.

7. Torreon

Amidst miles of scenic trails, lakes and streams, the Torreon clubhouse has lots of activities for its member’s families, including a family and fitness center, a pool, tennis and pickleball courts and much more that open at the end of March/early April. There are activities for kids of all ages with classic board games, a video arcade and a kids’ movie room.
